conclusion of the magnificent Spring ‘90 tour, so there was going to be rust. But come on boys, you’ve still played most of these songs dozens of times and more. I won’t go song by song detailing each mistake, one uglier than the next. Sure it’s nice to get The Race Is On - a Derby day classic. But, things start falling apart in Help, and the missteps just snowball. Loose Lucy was probably the best song of the day, where they seemed like they knew what they were doing and interested in doing it well. And GDTRFB eventually comes together . . . sort of. But so many issues. Drummers are out of sync. Tempos are erratic and often lethargic. It was boiling hot that weekend, so there’s that. Lyrics are off way more than usual. Jerry using MIDI for all the wrong reasons. Even Brent screws up Playin’. All in all, a fun time on the soccer field for sure, but the playing was just sloppy.
